FIFE COAST
The Fife Coastal Path, you will experience dramatic cliffs and caves, rocky seashores, miles of sandy beaches, numerous lovely fishing villages with quaint harbours, ancient castles and stunning sea views.
The Coastal Path starts in North Queensferry, a small town on the north shore of the Forth Estuary, at the foot of the mighty Forth Bridge, which has been a prominent feature of the coastline since 1890. The route follows the coastline to end at the historic university town of St Andrews
OUR FIFE COAST TRIP
First stop off Pittenweem harbour, and St Fillians cave which is a quaint little fishing village, where you collect a key from the Cocoa cafe.
We then then we stopped at Anstruther for fish and chips, who won an award for the best fish and Chip shop also a cute little fishing village..
Then onto Crail beach for some fossil hunting where the girls found various coloured stones, some kind of animal bone and lots of shells.
Next stop was Ruby’s bay for a walk around Elie Ness Lighthouse and Ladys Tower, this was amazing and worth the stop, we actually spent about 2 hours here and could of stayed longer if we had the time..
Next onto Wemyes cave and castle ruins which was amazing, we could go inside some of the caves, the car park was small and facing some houses, but the caves are sign posted throughout, some steps to complete the full walk.
We finished the day with a trip to Ravenscraig
castle ruins which was fantastic with information boards and you could explore inside the ruins, large car park here and a big play area for the kids.
We walked approx 8/9 miles this day but loved every minute of this coast line.
