We have walked Rivington Pike many times but this was our first time walking a circular walk.

From the small car park we turned left on to the road, which we followed until we reached a gate on the right hand side.

Through the gate and onto the open moorland, the path is well defined running alongside a small stream., you pass some old ruins on your left as you continue gentle incline uphill.

You come to a junction where you turn left and head up to the summit of Two Lads, there is small cairns and a large cairn. From here we picked up a faint path across the Moorland to the road leading to Winter hill tower mass.

You come too a couple of memorial plaques as you go through the tower mass, contiune on this road which will eventually you will see a Cairn ( this area was boggy to get to the cairn)

After another photo we followed the road until it ended, this area if poor weather is difficult to follow.

We took the left hand path and followed Noon hill which you can see in the distance, its only a short walk but very boggy.

We continued along the trodden boggy grass path and found a way down to the well maintained path below us which leads round to Rivington Pike.

You pass some forest area and old buildings with Rivington pike on your left, there is some stone steps leading to the summit of a gentle path to the left of the steps.

The top of the pike has a large tower and a bench to stop and admire the views.

From the tower you can look across the moors and see the route you have walked.

We follow the path away from the tower making it a circular walk,  its a little steep going down but nothing too bad, it then evens out for the walk back to the car passing a small kiosk selling drinks, also does drinks for drinks outside.

THIS WALK IS EASY TO FOLLOW IN GOOD WEATHER BUT POOR VISIBILITY WOULD MAKE IT DIFFICULT DUE TO BOGGY GROUND AND OFTEN PATHLESS TRAIL., MAP AND COMPASS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
