The path leads from the car park with a map and sign posts depending on which trail you take, this area can be extremely busy, especially weekends and holidays so best arriving really early, or going on a week day.
We arrived around 4pm to find a few spaces which was OK as the walk only took 1.5-2 hours and thats with stops for photos.
You go through the forest section first which we found quite boggy in sections, also various rocks and tree roots on the ground so care is needed.
After the forest you start zigzagging up the hill through the heather until you reach the plateau, you will see the rock formations in the distance, which the path leads across the summit between the heather on a good trodden path.
The views are fantastic down to Ladybower, our plan for the day was to walk to Stanage edge but it was too windy on the summit to the point that Ariya had to be held to stop her blowing off, the one thing we always do is if in doubt turn back, as the walk will still be there another day.
