RSPB Scotland Loch Leven is part of Loch Leven National Nature Reserve. The loch is famous for its connections to Mary Queen of Scots and as Scotland’s largest lowland freshwater loch.

There is a few places to park around the loch, we have been to the one above at the RSPB reserve which has have binoculars, wildlife explorer rucksacks and pond dipping kits for hire from reception for families. Children can explore the woodland, den building area and nature play zone and for younger children.

This area is perfect for kids as it has a large play area, good level paths, you can get a boat over the the castle in the middle Island,
we followed the trail map up to Queen Mary gate and back approx. 5 miles we walked but you can do the full circuit which is 13 miles.
