EASY WALKING
We have done this walk many times and normally only ever pass the odd person, but the last time we visited was the weekend before lock down, it was so busy, but we found as we walked into the valley it was quieter.
The lay by has room for maybe 10 cars which is right on the langden brook so often people will paddle here.
From the parking you will cross the bridge in front of you and continue on the road and past the water works house and through the gate onto the track.
This is a great path which you walk down along until the path rises, you can continue forward on the lower path but we take the higher path and return on the lower path, the joining point of both paths sits a memorial plaque.
We continue along the path to Langden castle this former ruined building looks like it is now used for some shooting purpose. It is said that in the past it was used to secure prisoners en route to Lancaster Castle.
This is a nice place to stop for a picnic and admire the views before the return walk back the same way.
