From the lay by you will see a stile over the fence on your right, climb this and head towards the ravine in front of you which sits between Seat Sadal and Dollywagon pike .

( You can include both of these on the walk  if you wanted to walk further)

You then follow the path to Grizedale Tarn with the beck on your left, it is steep and rocky in places, can be slippy after rain, its approx 1.5 miles to the tarn.

Once at the tarn you will see the paths up to both Seat Sadal to your right and Dollywagon pike to your left, both of these are great walks too.

We instead followed the path around the right side of the tarn, you will see Fairfield path in front of you, now i must admit this is one of the steepest ascents we have done up to now.

The path zigzags its way to the summit plateau on loose scree stones so care is needed, i think its worse coming down.

Once at the summit you will see a stone shelter which is good for a quick break while you admire the views.

We returned the same way.
