DOVEDALE STEPPING STONES
Dovedale is known for the River Dove and it's impressive limestone ravines, but the most popular part of a trip to Dovedale seems to be the stepping stones

TERRAIN-WELL MAINTAINED PATHS, AFTER THE STEPPING STONES THERE IS SOME STEEP SECTIONS AND ROCKY.
This is probably one of the busiest areas we have been to in the Peaks, we would recommend getting there very early or avoiding at weekends , as the roads are often road blocked.
The trail is sign posted but you can also pick up a map from the kiosk for £1 which gives a variety of walks.
The walk to the stepping stones is the busiest just 1 mile from the car park but once you pass these its quiter.
We followed the Map we brought from the little Kiosk, up past Lovers leap up to Mill dale, exploring various caves and rock formations along the way.
We followed the same path back so the kids could paddle in the water and by this point it was much quieter.
In the summer its busy with people paddling in the water, please take care as the water can get deep and fast.
