The Halo, designed by John Kennedy, is a steel lattice structure measuring 18 meters in diameter, raised on a five meters above the ground. The Halo sculpture is one of four intriguing Panopticons located on different hills of East Lancashire Penn. Together, they create a distinctive series of 21st-century landmarks that attract thousands of visitors.
From the roadside parking, you can see the path to the Halo close by, we unfortunately chose a day when visibility was poor..
Come out of the Halo via the main gates and turn left walking between two walls on a dirt track. we then took the first right hand path heading towards Cribden Hill, keeping the wall on your right.

As you reach a opening in the wall cross over to the other side so the fencing is on your left. The grass path can be really boggy. We had zero visability but used OS maps to navigate.
THE SUMMIT
You will finally reach a metal gate stile, cross this and on your the summit, although there is no distinct trig or cairn, but using OS maps can show the summit.
