Blencartha has approx 12 routes to the summit, we chose the easiest route  and most direct from the car park over Blease fell and then Blencartha.

When we first did the walk, we had no visibility, rain and low cloud, but still enjoyed the walk.

The walk is initially gentle on a mixture of maintained paths, stones and grass, it becomes steep at knowle crag but once past this  the gradient isn’t too steep  you come a cairn the grassy path then turns into a stone track which begins to zig-zag its way up to the top of Blease Fell, it levels on the plateau to make a nice walk to the summit with a gentle incline. DO take care because in poor weather there is steep ravines between the various ridges along to the summit

Once at the summit you will see the circular trig point  on the ground.

Blencartha has various paths to the summit, its a popular mountain as it  a path suitable for everyones ability, t=from the easier ascent here too  Sharp edge  a grade 1 scramble.
